Getting to Know Morgan Clancy

Clancy, Woodville sophomore, is majoring in Communications-Advertising and hopes to pursue a career in an ad agency or an inhouse social media brand management company.
Clancy says her generational upbringing was a large contribution to her career choice.
“I think growing up in the digital age I have always been around social media, so I feel pretty proficient in it,” Clancy said.
While in high school, Clancy Morgan her school’s varsity cheer Instagram account. This experience would solidify her interest in social media management and advertising.
“They [her parents] always taught us growing up that you make your own future, you make your own path,” she said. “What you want you must work for.”
Clancy credits her parents and her family for being a significant motivator to pursue her dreams. She hopes that she will be able to fulfill the life that her parents did not have an opportunity to experience and repay them for all that they have done for her.
“And I think that’s what drives me is I want to be able to provide for my family when I’m older, and I want to be able to be there if my family ever needs me,” Clancy said.
Although Clancy is a driven and focused young woman, she is not all business all the time. She says that if you are not a little selfish, then you will eventually burnout.
“If you don’t do anything for yourself, you are not going to be as driven for it,” Clancy said. “If I’m not happy, then what is all this for?”
It is because of this that, aside from pursuing her career, Clancy’s aspires to climb Mount Everest. She says that heights have always been calming to her. She also said the aspiration gives her an excuse to continue bettering herself.
