For my only text assignment, I chose Tempur-Pedic mattresses. I used the text "make sleep easy" to attract audiences and intrigue them about the quality of the product. I also faded out the words to visually mimic the action of falling asleep. I chose Georgia-bolditalic because it is a rounded font, which fits with the mood of the product, but is still an aesthetic and professional-looking font. For the updated version, I added a cloud to background to further invoke and peaceful and sleepy tone. I also redid the "Tempur-Pedic" logo so that the "Pedic" section is in a stark white, making it easier to read.
For my ad assignment, I chose Meta (the new Facebook). Because the new company platform is a virtual reality I chose an image of a man participating in said activity. I used the text "why be bored when you can be meta" as a way to draw people in and give a solution to the boredom many people have experienced since the beginning of the pandemic due to COVID restrictions. I added the Meta logo and also a captain identifying the company as "originally Facebook" because Facebook is currently a household name and would be recognizable to audiences. In the newer version, I decided I didn't like how busy the ad was, so I chose a more simple photo and simplified the wording. This ad is significantly easier and faster to consume and I believe is more aesthetically pleasing.
